Iao Core is an experimental rock band formed in San Francisco in 1987. Far outside the mainstream (in terms of music and career path), they have released more than 20 albums, have a devoted worldwide following, and tour frequently. Their music touches on classical, electronica, industrial, speed metal with a distinctly experimental/avant-garde bent; The lyrics are in fact superb: out of such pockets light pours, conjuring spirits of an America both mysterious and obscene.

"By giving our ancestors certain ideas and techniques, the Metaverse insures its own manifestation(s). As a performer the last thing I am concerned with is what I’m going to do about it. I’m not going to do anything. I have been doing it all along and so have you. When Iao Core plays a gig like "The Orange Peel", we are doing what we have been doing but now we bring others too, awestruck in nerve-cathedrals of confounding microcircuitous elegance, fabulously vivid and animated beyond belief.. Shows like that remind one that once an event has happened in this sphere, it’s frozen into the Order of Mainstream Reality and cannot “unhappen”. It weaves it’s way into our lives so it’s Information can be exchanged on levels other than the physical, and isn’t limited by Time’s arrow. It was like the central shaft of a sunflower.
